Nissan Sires of the World series very successful for Zangersheide
Bordeaux - The competition series for showjumping sires sponsored by Nissan 'Sires of the World' resulted in the finals at Bordeaux (13.02.1999) in great success for co-sponsor Studbook Zangersheide. In the finals Studfarm Zangersheide's own rider ruled supreme: after three rounds Jos Lansink finished in first place with Nissan Zandor Z (Rhld. by Zeus, dam's sire Polydor) and came second on Nissan Calvaro Z (Holst., by Caletto I, dam's sire Capitol I). Third was Swedish lady rider Emma Wester on the Zangersheide licensed Iowa (KWPN, by Libero H, dam's sire Nimmerdor). - Equestrian Websites
Besides these results the finals also produced the outcome of the 'Sire of the World Euro Ranking' series, which in its first season of existence covered five competitions: Lanaken-Zangersheide (BEL), Caen (FRA), Mechlin (BEL), Hanover (GER) and Bordeaux (FRA). The total series produced a ranking expressed in Euro, led by Nissan Zandor Z, on which Jos Lansink collected 14,129 Euro. Second comes Alligator Fontaine (SF, by Noren, dam's sire Dark Tiger xx) who earned 7,368 Euro for Eric Navet,
in this top-ten followed by: Nissan Calvaro Z/Jos Lansink with 6,794 Euro, Nissan High Valley Z (KWPN, by Ahorn, dam's sire Conte) under Jos Lansink with 6,234 Euro, Caucalis (SF, by Rox de la Touche, dam's sire Geronimo D) under Max Thirouin with 5,738 Euro, Iowa/Emma Wester with 5,716 Euro, RBG Landaris (Holst., by Landgraf I, dam's sire Caletto I) under Ludo Philippaerts with 4,364 Euro, Bim II (Ukr., by Bazmalej) under Lesley McNaught with 3,500 Euro, Power Light (Han., by Pilot, dam's sire Debutant) under Alois Pollmann-Schweckhorst with 3,200 Euro and Barbarian (SF, by Quiniou, dam's sire Fantaisiste) under Philippe Rozier with 2,575 Euro. Prizes and premiums were paid out to riders and breeders in Euro. But as the EU currency does not yet exist in cash, Zangersheide chief Léon Melchior had gigantic cheques printed which pictured the already existing design.
