Z-FESTIVAL - Friday and Saturday 30 and 31 July 1999

The event at which you can show your Z-product to a large public

For the first time this year, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Studbook, Zangersheide will organise a Z-Festival. This two day event will take place on Friday and Saturday 30 and 31 July, some time before the World Championships for Young Showjumping Horses. All the classes of this summer festival can be entered by Z-horses and will take place in the open air, in an ideal accommodation. The programme will include classes for 3- and 4-yr-old showjumping horses which will be judged by an international jury on various components. The traditional Benelux Foal Championship will, earlier than in former years, be part of the programme of Z-Festival.

Any 3-yr-old Z-horses (stallions, mares or geldings) can show their metal in the free jumping class. The 4-yr-old showjumpers have to jump a line under saddle. The horses in both classes will be judged on talent, technique, power, push-off, action and correctness.

Equestrian Websites

At Z-Festival owners/breeders may enter their products in the selection for the Elite Z-auction, which will this year also include the sale of 4-yr-olds, and stallions licensed or non-licensed at selections. This can be stated on the entry form for participation in Z-Festival. The Elite Z-auction will be held, as always, during the World Championships for Young Horses from 23-26 S eptember 1999. The sales prices realized at the auction have steadily gone up over the years! In 1999 an extensive promotion campaign will precede the auction.

Jos Lansink second in GP Liege - Competition Results For Zangersheide (2000)

Jos Lansink second in GP Liege
Liege (Belgium) - Jos Lansink finished second in the Grand Prix of CSI Liege, after a second clear round in the jump-ff on TNT Caretano Z, clocking out just behind the French Eric Navet on Dollar du Murier.

There had been only two combinations in the jump-off. Although also Philippe Rozier had left all the jumps standing up in the first round, he exceed the time limit which cost him a penalty.

Z-Festival, the ultimate parameter 22/07/2011 - 24/07/2011

From 22 up to and including 24 July we will organise the 13th Z-Festival. For breeders these foal championships are always an objective standard for showjumping horse breeding. That is guarantees by the jury, whose members have earned their metal in breeding and trade and have their fingers on the pulse of the horse world. Besides the nomination of champions and finalists, Z-Festival is also the moment at which the selection is published for the Zangersheide Quality Auction which is traditionally held during the World Championships for Young Horses in September. This regular pattern of the foal championships on the one hand and the selection criterion for the auction on the other is now a tradition the breeders have become well familiar with.

Selection criterion WC
Also well-known by now are the Z-Show Jumping competitions for young Z-horses that take place during Z-Festival. New this year is that at Z-Festival we also use the Show Jumping competitions as qualifiers for the World Championships for 5- and 6-yr-olds. A first qualifier is scheduled for Saturday 23 July, the second on Sunday 24 July. The number of starting places for the WC is limited, we organise a regularity criterion for the Z-horses over four qualifiers, in which the top five after four rounds are rewarded with a seclection for the WC. There are two qualifiers in July and two in August.

3-yr-old champions
Also this year the jury will choose a champion and 2 reserve champions from the 3-yr-old z-horses in free jumping. New this year is that the jury will make a selection for an auction for 3-yr-olds that will be held in August. The horses thus selected will naturally undergo a veterinary examination performed by the vets from Zangersheide.

Besides the 3-, 5- and 6-yr-old Z-horses also the 4-yr-olds will jump on Sunday 24 July 2011.

Winner of the jumping index at the performance test

A strong type stallion, Carenzo was awarded a premium at the 2005 licensing in Verden, finishing as the second Reserve Champion in the lot of jumper stallions. He's an extra class candidate for the course richly blessed with all of the attributes a top athlete should have and is stamped all over with a clear performance statement. The outstanding progression of his movements swings through his whole body resulting in an awesome canter and he's simply first class when it comes to ability, leg technique and bascule. All traits that make everyone very keen on this youngster.

At his 30-day test in Zweibrücken which he took in 2006, he had the best score of all competitors in jumping, dominating with an 8.88. In 2008 he took his 70-day test in Schlieckau with equally positive results in all fields, reflecting his versatile talents. Competing in sport, he has won and placed in novice (A) and elementary (L) level tests for young show jumpers. Carenzo's lively first crops of foals were also strong types with long legs and enormous movement potential. Many of them were awarded premiums. On the basis of his good results at the performance test and first achievements in sport, he was awarded the I-b main premium in the lot of stallions with emphasis on jumping at the Oldenburg Hengsttage 2008 in Vechta.

His sire, Calido I, proved his own sport qualities by sovereignly winning the jumping index at his stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf in 1994 and then winning many tests for young show jumpers, also successfully participating in the Bundeschampionat twice.

The most influential son of the famous Cantus, he sired one top horse after the other such as Coupe de Coeur, who became the German Champion in 2006 and 2007 with Rene Tebbel, more than 35 other licensed stallions, numerous State Premium mares and more than 170 advanced (S) level show jumpers. The dam's sire, Freedom (today USA), was bred in Zangersheide out of a full sister of the world famous Ratina Z (Ludger Beerbaum), just like the sires Rebel Z I to III. During his short breeding activities in Germany, he produced several jumpers that successfully reached advanced (S) level. Bred to Espri, Carenzo's granddam, Grandessa, produced two advanced (S) level show jumpers, Expander and Elliot, and two medium (M) level show jumpers named El-S and Spellbound H. The great granddam, Wyoming-Girl, produced two medium (M) level show jumpers by Wanderer named Willow and Wicked Game. She is a full sister of the former Oldenburg main premium winning stallion and successful sire, Waidmannsheil (private stallion Oldenburg, Baden-Württemberg; I-a main premium 1971). Their dam, Felsenburg, is a full sister of the State Stud Celle sire and jumper-maker, Winnetou. Carenzo's dam line which is based on the Hanoverian mare line 799/Schebecha (by Schah-Lorlot-Xerxes-Julius-Admiral I), is also the origin of the stallions Ballerino, Davis Cup, Gardeoffizier, Graf Sandro, Graf Werther, Grannus Sohn, Harvard, Plural, Tramino, Traumulus, Wendig, Westminister and Westrich.
